The Best Western Grand Hotel’s historical ballroom has been the subject of a massive refurbishment and is now rightly named The Great Room.
Retaining many of its stunning period features, this is the Best Western Grand Hotel’s largest function room which can cater for up to 250 guests.
It has state-of-the-art conferencing facilities such as ISDN lines, an integral PA system and blackout screens and organisers can also take advantage of an additional full range of business services.
The Great Room and Pipers function room are ideal venues for your dinner and general evening functions. Stylishly elegant, they both incorporate a superb lighting system which can be adapted to suit the mood of your particular function or event. for your individual needs.
Pipers function room has its own bar and is the ideal space for pre-dinner drinks, a reception or a more intimate dinner or event. With all the conference facilities you would expect of a modern venue it is also an ideal room for meetings and presentations.
Tavistock Italia, situated in the atmospheric cellar area of the Hotel, is available for private use for your conference and banqueting requirements.
There also a number of syndicate rooms available to suit the smaller meetings, interviews or product launches. These rooms are situated on the first floor of the hotel and are bright, modern and spacious.

something more substantial in our carvery area or dine downstairs in the Tavistock Italia restaurant.

Contemporary Italian cuisine with an original twist –that’s what we proudly offer at Tavistock Italia restaurant.
Dine in our stylish restaurant surrounded by movie memorabilia and enjoy an imaginative and extensive menu with something to please everyone.
With seating for up 110 guests, the restaurant is also available for private bookings for events, parties or wedding receptions.
Outside Event Management
You don’t just have to enjoy Tavistock’s fabulous food at one of our many venues. Our outside catering arm, Tavistock Event Catering, can offer you the same high standards of catering for every kind of event from barbeques to balls, garden fetes to corporate golfing days.
We can also provide marquees and outside bars.
