The Alexandra in Sunderland is an iconic building which has played host to various events and celebrations over the years. Scores of locals hold fond memories of special occasions celebrated with friends and family in the bar or function room in the years gone by.
Sunderland based leisure company Tavistock Leisure has now taken over the site and restored it to its former glory. The Alexandra has already received a comprehensive refurbishment and now includes a bar, conference and banqueting for over 400 guests and a Tavistock Italia restaurant - offering all of your Tavistock favourites.
Conference and Banqueting
Our spectacular conference and banqueting suite can accommodate up to four hundred guests and is ideal for Weddings, Christenings, Business Awards, Dinners, Birthday Parties and Charity Evenings.

Upcoming sporting event? Don’t want to miss it? Looking for a great atmosphere? Look no further than the Alexander. With five 42” plasma screens you’ll be able to see the action wherever you are in our bar – perfect for all sporting occasions.
As well as unrivalled sporting coverage we also offer a games area with two pool tables, a dart board, jukebox, quiz machine and gaming machines. For any team captains out there we’re also looking for customers to run our pool teams and darts & dominoes teams from our venue.
